Foerschler Fables: Double the fun in CO

Several weeks ago, the Foerschlers packed up the ol' mini van to head out to Colorado for our niece and nephews first birthday. Each time we go out to CO Wes is at a different stage and we wonder how he will do for the 7-8 hour trek. Well, he did awesome. We left on a Thursday evening so that he could sleep through most of the trip. He loves the DVD player and we have discovered that we have to turn it off if we want him to sleep. Yet another way he is like his daddy. He woke up for the last 30-45 minutes of the trip, but was happy. Every road trip we take, we comment on how nice it is to have our Honda Odyssey.

We always have a great time out in Colorado; beautiful weather and scenery. The highlight of this trip for Wes was taking a bath in the big jacuzzi tub every morning. Friday morning he woke up with a completely soaked diaper. His jammies and sheet/blanket were wet so we decided to give him a bath. Jonny got in the tub with him and turned the jets on. It scared him at first, but once he got used to it, he LOVED it. He especially loved all the bubbles (one of his newest words)!

The highlight of the trip for us was watching Wes and his cousins interact. They loved watching Wes run around and were thoroughly entertained by his "talking". Although, Ryan was just mad that he couldn't run around with him. Wes seemed to realize quickly that the "babies" couldn't walk so he got down and crawled so they could chase him. It was really very sweet. When the twins were napping we would watch them on the monitor and Wes would say "baby" and smile so big.

We are looking forward to many more times of being together. We joked about what it was like before kids: sleeping more, eating out more, lounging around. But we all agreed we wouldn't trade our chaos for anything!
