weekend fun

The Foerschler family had a fun filled weekend!  Now that I've started my new job I'm working all 5 days a week (sad about that, but looking forward to the summers), so the weekends seem to fly by even faster.  We started our weekend off by celebrating National S'mores Day with our life goup.  One of the couples in our group invited us to their house to enjoy a fire in their firepit and roasting some marshmallows.  I LOVE s'mores, so of course we went.  It was a beautiful night and we enjoyed great snacks and company.

Saturday morning I woke up with a sty on the inside of my eyelid.  Holy moly that thing hurt!  Despite the pain, I enjoyed coffee with a friend and a little bit of shopping with Jonny and Wes.  Saturday also consisted of 2 naps for both Wes and me. :)  Every time I put a hot rag on my eye, I just couldn't help but fall asleep.  It seemed to help because the sty is gone and I'm pain free.

Good morning!
Saturday night I ran in the Glow Run 5k.  There were so many people there all decked out!  It was a beautiful night.  I really enjoyed running in a race in the evening rather than morning.  I ran with a friend from church and she really pushed me.  I went into this race thinking I would jog and walk.  I ended up running the whole thing (that's the competitiveness in me)!  I was a little impressed that I was able to run the whole thing, but more shocked that I wasn't dying.  The Glow Run definitely got me excited to start running again.

Do you think these are too big?

Fireworks!

We ended our weekend with church in the morning, swimming while Wes napped, and then watched the Olympic closing ceremony.  Overall, a great weekend!

And the moral of the story is...weekends rock, but are always too short!
